Valerie Lowe

Harvest Show Host

Valerie Lowe

Award-winning journalist Valerie G. Lowe is the newest host of The Harvest Show. She was a longtime resident of Orlando, Fla., before joining the team in September 2010.

Valerie spent 14 years as an associate editor for Charisma magazine and became well-known for securing high-profile interviews with such figures as then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, actor Denzel Washington, the late civil rights leader Coretta Scott King, Bishop T.D. Jakes, actress Ashley Judd, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Super Bowl XLII-winning wide receiver David Tyree, filmmaker Tyler Perry, and former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan Johnny Lee Clary.

Her work reporting on the move of the Holy Spirit has taken her across the U.S. and abroad to  Haiti, France, Israel, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Ukraine and Canada.

But on Saturday mornings, Valerie can be found at boutiques and thrift stores in search of all things vintage. And she is an Orlando Magic fan.

Valerie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Florida A&M University and got her start in TV by appearing on a weekly kids' show in the seventh grade.

With hopes of becoming a news anchorwoman, she built her career by interning or volunteering with a string of media outlets in Florida, including WMBB-TV News 13 in Panama City, The Tallahassee Democrat and WOKB radio station in Orlando.

She is the mother of one daughter. Her experiences as a single mom led her to found Keep the Faith Single Moms Ministry, and opened the door for her to produce and host Simple Solutions for Single Moms, which aired on WTGL TV 45 in Orlando.

She is fourth in a family of eight kids and shares that spot with her identical twin, Vanessa. Valerie is smitten with her parents, and enjoys hanging out with her siblings and their children. She recently lost 25 pounds, and has the biceps and triceps to prove it.

Valerie is a member of the Church of God in Christ, and loves God with all her heart, mind, soul, personality and more!
